Fiber Optic / Low Voltage Technician
Location: Vandenburg, AFB California On-Site. Work will be performed in restricted SCIF environments — adherence to security protocols is mandatory. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
Typical Duties
Install, route, and secure fiber optic cabling within SCIF-rated pathways
Install overhead and wall-mounted cable tray systems to support cabling infrastructure
Terminate, splice, and test singlemode and multimode fiber (Corning systems)
Conduct OTDR, power meter, and continuity testing with detailed reporting
Install racks, patch panels, grounding systems, and secure cable management hardware
Read and interpret SOWs, site drawings, and security compliance guidelines
Follow strict SCIF access, escort, and material handling protocols
Perform work in accordance with BICSI, TIA, and DoD standards
Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years low‑voltage / structured cabling experience
Hands‑on experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing
Prior work in government, military, or high‑security environments preferred
Experience installing cable tray, conduit, and grounding systems
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 – Preferred
BICSI Installer 2, Fiber or Copper – Preferred
Corning, CommScope, or Panduit Certification – Preferred
Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher preferred)
Valid Driver’s License
Must be eligible for DoD background check and SCIF access
