Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and ensure material availability.
Oversee procurement activities, including supplier selection, negotiation, and relationship management.
Collaborate with production planning to ensure alignment of material flow with manufacturing schedules.
Manage warehousing and logistics operations for efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
Analyze material usage, lead times, and market trends to develop accurate demand forecasts.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the materials department to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Lead, mentor, and develop the materials team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in materials management, supply chain, or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory planning, production scheduling, and procurement.
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on data‑driven decision making and inventory optimization.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage supplier relationships and internal stakeholders.
Bonus Qualifications
APICS CSCP or CPIM certification
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Proficiency with advanced data analytics and forecasting software
Experience with international sourcing and logistics
