Production Supervisor – 1st Shift Location:
Elkhart, IN, USA
Business Unit:
Thermal Ceramics
As part of our Thermal Ceramics business unit you will oversee production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on‑time delivery while empowering your team to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Champion safety as the top priority and foster a premier safety culture through VSL/thinkSafe activities.
Provide training opportunities to enhance team skills and performance.
Coordinate production operations, including staffing, scheduling, and problem‑solving to maintain on‑time delivery and meet production goals.
Monitor performance metrics for quality, efficiency, and output, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Collaborate with leadership to ensure smooth transitions between shifts through effective handovers and communication.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and operational policies, such as 5S principles, PPE usage, and documentation control.
Provide coaching and feedback to empower team members and resolve challenges on the production floor.
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent education; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
3–5 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (JDE experience preferred).
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma and Lean principles.
Citizenship:
Citizen of the United States, or
Permanent resident alien of the United States, or
Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324(a)(3)
