Acara Solutions is looking for an Accountant to work for one of our clients in Tucson, AZ. This is a contract position possible, contract to hire.
Hourly rate: $50
Description of Duties
Maintain the Fixed Asset and associated depreciation schedules in JAMIS; provide monthly detail to the Controller for General Journal entries; insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
Maintain employee payroll files and update JAMIS
Prepare and submit bi‑weekly payroll and supporting journal transactions.
Prepare and post 401K and HSA contributions deducted from payroll.
Maintain PTO accruals and reconciliations.
Prepare milestone invoices.
Maintain cash workbook and post deposits
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare Bank Reconciliations
Prepare mailings and priority shipments for the Finance/Accounting Department.
Prepare correspondence as needed within the department.
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable.
Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative duties as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice – by the CFO or Controller.
Required Skills / Qualifications
Knowledge of general ledgers
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Knowledge of and experience in government contract accounting a plus
Knowledge of mathematical calculations and bookkeeping procedures
Skill in performing detailed numerical computations
Skill in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis
Skill in the use of computer hardware and software, specifically Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
Ability to effectively communicate.
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
