SENIOR ACCOUNTANT II - LEASES

Job Location: US-FL-Davie
Responsibilities
Adhere to Seminole Hard Rock Support Services policies and procedures
Research and analyze lease standard technical positions and compliance efforts related to local US GAAP (ASC 842), IFRS, GASB and other country by country GAAPs
Review all leases and determine the appropriate recording and treatment
Continue to maintain leases on a monthly basis working with the properties to confirm any new, expired, or terminated leases
Maintain lease database and LeaseQuery application by inputting all new leases and updating expired/terminated leases to support periodic reporting
Provide support to Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock properties with respect to any questions related to the accounting treatment of leases
Prepare accurately and timely lease journal entries on a monthly basis leveraging the LeaseQuery software
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations associated with leases and verify that these agree to the LeaseQuery sub-ledger
Resolve account discrepancies by researching, verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions
Prepare financial analysis of the properties lease expense to identify discrepancies associated with the recording of leases
Prepare lease rollforward, reconciliations, and disclosure reports associated with quarterly and annual reporting requirements
Liaise with internal financial reporting, external audit teams, and other stakeholders to address queries and meet reporting deadlines
Document new business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls and effectively record all leases in accordance with the applicable accounting standard
Keep current any departmental check list or procedures
Demonstrate accountability and adaptability to change with experience working in a high-growth organization
Operate ethically and in accordance with professional standards
Ad-hoc projects as required
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience (including ASC 842). Master’s, CPA, and public accounting experience preferred
Experience with journal entries, allocations and balance sheet reconciliations requiredMust possess excellent time management skills
Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills, including being a good listener and articulating complex issues in a crisp, compelling, and insightful manner
Microsoft Office proficiency

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
