Shifts Available : 8a - 5pm with on-call flexibility

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Staffing Coordinator/Scheduler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining nursing staff schedules to ensure our residents receive the best care possible. This role is critical in managing staffing needs, tracking attendance, and ensuring proper coverage for all shifts.

Work Environment

Office setting within a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

Developing schedules based on patient census, acuity, and staffing needs, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts, and adjusting schedules as needed for absences, leaves, or unexpected events.

Ensures adequate and appropriate staffing levels to meet resident care needs.

Complete staff orientation and competencies as needed.

Creating and maintaining schedules, coordinating with HR on staffing needs, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and maintaining accurate records related to timekeeping and leave.

Finding replacement staff for sick leave, vacation, or other absences, and ensuring appropriate coverage for all shifts

Regularly review census, admissions, and discharges to ensure sufficient staff are available to meet the needs of the residents.

Advice on staffing needs by working with HR to identify and address staffing gaps, ensuring proper resource allocation through daily staffing reconciliation.

Assist with recruiting by posting job openings, review resumes, conduct initial screenings, and collaborate with hiring managers during weekly labor meetings.

Help with the onboarding process, including orientation, training, and ensuring new nursing staff have the necessary resources to succeed.

Adhere to all relevant federal and state regulations regarding staffing, patient care, and employee records.

Other Duties

Provide C.N.A./C.M.A. backup to floors as needed to fill shift.

Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff, management, and other healthcare professionals.

Address staffing-related issues or challenges in a timely and effective manner.

Work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal resident care.

Demonstrate Professionalism

Adhere to predetermined work dates and times.

Attend monthly mandatory in-services.

Complete assignments in a timely manner as assigned.

Work cooperatively with other employees.

Consistently professional appearance.

Qualifications

Active on state Nurse Aide Registry required.

Active on state Medication Aide Registry preferred.

CPR highly recommended.

Experience in healthcare, particularly in staffing or scheduling, is highly valued.

Familiarity with the regulations and practices of skilled nursing facilities is a plus.
