Senior Roadway Engineer – Principal Consultant I Transportation & Land Survey Market | Southeast Region
Our client, a well-established multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer to support transportation infrastructure projects across North Carolina and the surrounding region. This is a great opportunity for an experienced roadway engineer who enjoys leading design efforts, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to impactful public sector projects.

Base Pay Range $110,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Responsibilities
Leading roadway design projects from concept through final plans
Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with NCDOT and AASHTO standards
Overseeing geometric design, corridor modeling, and traffic control plans
Coordinating with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients
Mentoring junior engineers and supporting staff development
Assisting with proposals, scope development, and client presentations
Supporting project managers with technical execution and quality control
Ideal Candidate
At least 8 years of experience in roadway engineering
Strong knowledge of NCDOT standards and procedures
Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina or ability to obtain
Excellent communication and leadership skills
A collaborative mindset and interest in continued professional growth
