Parrish & Partners is seeking a Roadway Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office. The individual should enjoy working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and possess the communication skills necessary to coordinate with staff and other design disciplines. This person will work with staff on various transportation improvement projects including interstate/interchanges, roadway widening, bridge replacements, and new location projects.
Duties
Collecting and analyzing project data
Leading or assisting in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents
Calculating quantities and developing cost estimates
Producing a complete plan set
Working with other design disciplines
Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Minimum Qualifications
BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited curriculum
EI/EIT Certification with the ability to obtain a PE license
5+ years’ experience in the field of civil engineering specializing in roadway design for NCDOT and local municipalities
Proficiency with AASHTO and NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards and specifications
Proficiency using MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer
NCDOT highway design experience
