Overview A turnkey general contractor specializing in OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) telecommunications construction is seeking Construction Coordinators to support ongoing projects across multiple markets, including Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and newly expanded regions such as New Jersey, Ohio, Florida, and Vermont.
This role will support business-as-usual (BAU) projects for a major cable provider and will involve managing teams of up to 15 personnel.
Position Summary The Construction Coordinator will oversee OSP telecommunications construction projects from initiation through closeout. Projects include commercial (Metro E and SMB) and residential (MDU and SDU) deployments. The role involves managing internal crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality control, meeting deadlines, and providing regular updates to clients and project managers.
This is a field-heavy role (approximately 75% field, 25% office) and requires strong communication, coordination, and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Manage turnkey projects including site surveys, site walks, BOM creation and validation, and project closeout.
Oversee coax splicing operations and inspect coax (565, 625, 715, 825, and 860 count) and large fiber bundles.
Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Perform quality control inspections and ensure adherence to project standards.
Track and report project progress using Excel and client‑specific software.
Provide weekly updates to project managers and clients.
Approve line items and define project scopes.
Convert digital plans into accurate as‑builts.
Set expectations with clients and maintain strong customer‑facing communication.
Collaborate with permitting, design, and construction teams (permitting support is in‑house).
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications OSP construction, specifically CATV and coax splicing.
Proven ability to manage turnkey projects including site walks, vendor coordination, QA, and project tracking.
Strong engagement, initiative, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
Familiarity with coax splicing and inspection (565, 625, 715, 825, and 860 count).
Additional Qualifications
Self‑motivated with the ability to take initiative and escape issues appropriately.
Strong collaboration skills across internal teams and external vendors. Ability to define project scopes, assess timelines, and manage deliverables.
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with growth opportunities.
Work Environment
Monday–Friday schedule with opportunities for overtime and occasional on‑call responsibilities.
Approximately 75% fieldwork and 25% office‑based.
Initial reporting to a local office with potential for remote flexibility once established.
Supporting expansion into the Pennsylvania and New Jersey markets, offering significant growth potential within a lean and agile team.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cinnaminson, NJ.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
