Mechanic - B (II)
Transdev in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Level 2 Diesel Mechanic for the West Yard location. The role requires diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity.

Position Type:
Full‑time, CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement)
Pay:
Starting $28.61 hourly, progressing to $30.04 over 4 months. Additional pay: ASE $0.25 per certification, $0.30 for each master ASE ($2.30 above hourly rate).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot diesel engine issues.
Perform moderate‑complexity repairs and replacements on diesel engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
Assist A‑Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks to support efficient workflow.
Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and devise comprehensive repair strategies.
Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, helping them develop skills and knowledge.
Complete other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided.
Mechanic’s tool set knowledge.
Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
Subject to DOT drug testing and physical exam if applicable.

Operate in heavy traffic areas; tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
