Position Summary Entry level position within maintenance specialist series; perform a variety of standard facility and ground maintenance duties and tasks to include carpentry, and electrical repairs; may support and interact with other department personnel. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No Patient care assignment.
Detailed Responsibilities
Perform a variety of standard facility and ground maintenance duties to assigned area; replace light bulbs, electrical outlets, switch covers and other related items.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair/adjust thermostats and facility systems as required; request qualified personnel for repairs as appropriate.
Participate in Fire-Brigade-Response Team and child abduction programs; participate in annual competency reviews, tests and in-services.
Assist other department personnel as needed.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications Education:
High School or GED Equivalent (essential)
Vocational or Technical (nonessential)
Related - Post High School (nonessential)
Experience:
1 year directly related experience (essential)
No preferred experience (nonessential)
Credentials:
Valid New Mexico Driver's License (essential)
UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit within 60 days (essential)
Physical Conditions:
Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Working conditions:
Minor Hazard - physical risks, dirt, dust, fumes, noise
Subject to random alcohol and substance testing
Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
