Primary Purpose of Position: To assist the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in advancing transfer recruitment and enrollment efforts, support the accurate evaluation of transfer coursework, maintain articulation tables, and contribute to outreach and yield initiatives.
Job Description The Transfer Admissions Support Representative is a temporary position that contributes to UNC Pembroke’s transfer recruitment and enrollment efforts by supporting accurate evaluation of transfer credit, strengthening outreach to prospective students, and helping enhance key processes within the transfer admissions workflow. While temporary, the role adds capacity to the Undergraduate Admissions team and advances initiatives that improve the transfer student experience.
Responsibilities
Assist in reviewing transfer coursework and entering evaluation information into the Banner student information system, applying established guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Support the ongoing maintenance of transfer articulations and equivalency tables by reviewing course information, identifying needed updates, and collaborating with the Office of the Registrar to make revisions.
Contribute to process improvements by monitoring data trends, noting discrepancies, and recommending small adjustments that can enhance efficiency or clarity for prospective students.
Participate in transfer recruitment and outreach efforts, including community college visits, information sessions, and engagement activities that strengthen relationships with transfer partners.
Support yield and communication strategies by assisting with targeted outreach, including call campaigns and follow‑up with prospective and admitted transfer students.
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions to curate helpful responses to general transfer‑related questions, guiding students to appropriate resources or staff.
Assist the Undergraduate Admissions team during peak periods by offering project support and contributing to initiatives that improve the overall transfer admissions process.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and follow all FERPA requirements.
Perform other related duties that contribute to a positive and efficient Undergraduate Admissions operation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and accurately enter data.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced team environment.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
Commitment to providing high‑quality service to prospective students and supporting transfer recruitment initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications/Management Preference
Familiarity with UNC Pembroke community or prior involvement in campus programs that support student engagement.
Experience interacting with prospective students or supporting outreach initiatives in a professional or volunteer capacity.
Comfort using technology to track, organize, or analyze information, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
Background in roles that involve helping, guiding, or connecting with others, such as public service, coaching, sales, or customer‑focused work.
Strong attention to detail with deductive reasoning, research, and keen comprehension skills to accurately assess and compare information to support decision‑making.
Ability to adapt to new responsibilities, manage priorities, and work collaboratively within a team.
Clear and professional communication skills when interacting with students, staff, or external partners.
Additional Requirements
Valid Driver’s License.
Successful completion of an employment background check (criminal, employment verification, reference checks, license verification, credit history).
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Veterans Preference: Attach a copy of DD‑214 during application.
