Duties

Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.

Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.).

Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling, A/C, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.).

Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions with handheld computers and pressure gauges.

Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.

Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and determine appropriate solutions.

Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, performing periodic reconciliation.

Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.

Work with and listen effectively to clients to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve issues.

Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time effectively.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.

Document work in accordance with company standards and upload pictures and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using iOS devices and the TRAIT application.

Complete DOT forms and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Work independently and manage a daily schedule.

Maintain a high level of productivity and meet standard repair times.

Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.

Communicate with management and support teams via email or phone for repair estimate approvals and purchase order numbers.

Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Maintain the service truck with safety checks and pre/post trip inspections.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field (or equivalent combination such as a degree, certification, or 5 years’ experience).

At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.

Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.

OEM training and certifications preferred.

ASE L2 preferred; other ASE certifications desirable.

Complete all company‑required training.

Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.

A current DOT medical card with more than four months validity, or a DOT physical if less than four months.

Minimum age 21 and to hold a valid driver’s license with a Driver Qualification File.

Safe driver required; valid state driver’s license.

Certification Requirements

ASE T8 (PMI) certification.

ASE 608/609 certification.

Compensation Hourly base pay: $31.49 – $47.26 per hour. Salary may vary based on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation, including commission or incentive programs, may apply.
