Responsibilities

Perform calibration and preventative maintenance on basic industrial weighing equipment (e.g., floor and bench scales) independently within the respective Business Area. May assist others on installations, projects, and/or repairs as necessary.

Perform basic end user training.

Execute calibrations and preventive maintenance duties according to METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.

Assist and cooperate with Scheduling Analyst and Service Support Team as necessary.

Ensure company vehicle is serviced and maintained according to fleet requirements and policies.

Promote and sell service and products proactively; submit sales leads commensurate with experience.

Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety and quality policies and procedures.

Work to meet customer uptime requirements and complete all work assignments on time.

Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork daily via company‑issued laptop.

Maintain a close professional relationship with external/internal customers, sales, technicians and other leaders.

Complete Kronos time‑keeping daily and ensure punches are entered for each activity as they occur.

Promote an atmosphere of collaboration and teamwork with field and service support colleagues.

Comply with the Company Fleet policy.

Submit Weights & Measures paperwork to state/county in a timely manner.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A valid driver's license.

High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years relevant experience, and aptitude in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, technology, or computer science, or equivalent experience in a technical support role.

Preferred: Associate's degree (AA) in a technical major or equivalent from a two‑year college.

Customer‑facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.

Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair philosophies, including PC networking and software configuration.

1–3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and Weights and Measures license in the service area; failure to obtain or loss will result in termination.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Capability to learn proprietary software and review/update information using METTLER TOLEDO programs.

Ability to travel overnight (up to 10% on average; may be as high as 25% depending on business needs); travel primarily via company‑assigned vehicle, may be required to travel by plane.

Residence within the service territory.

Ability to work overtime in the range of 10–15% on average; may be as high as 25%.

Willingness to be exposed to hazards (chemicals, solvents, vehicle traffic, machinery, moving parts, dust, cold environments) and to wear special protective equipment when required.

Position is safety‑sensitive and subject to drug testing and DOT physical exam.

Physical requirements: frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavy loads by carrying, pushing, or pulling; frequent crouching, stooping, kneeling, bending.
