Our industry leading Banking client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Associate to support a growing global payroll team in the Richmond, VA area. Working under an experienced Payroll Manager, you’ll contribute to accurate and compliant payroll delivery across both U.S. and international locations.
As a Payroll Associate, you will help coordinate and process domestic and international payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to corporate and legal standards. You’ll maintain payroll process documentation and validations, support strong internal controls, and assist with audits to meet compliance expectations. In this role, you will research and resolve payroll issues promptly, manage the timely funding of international payroll liabilities, and prepare the monthly general ledger file related to international payroll transactions. You’ll also support year‑end reconciliation and reporting across all global locations, maintain productive relationships with third‑party vendors, and respond to inquiries or notices from vendors and tax authorities.
Requirements for the Payroll Associate:
Experience supporting U.S. payroll and exposure to international payroll processes is a plus
Working knowledge of payroll compliance, tax obligations, and internal control procedures
Ability to maintain clear and accurate process and procedure documentation
Experience assisting with payroll funding, reconciliations, or GL‑related payroll activity
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to resolve payroll issues promptly
Experience coordinating with third‑party payroll vendors and responding to vendor or tax notifications
Familiarity with year‑end payroll processes, reconciliations, and reporting
CPP certification preferred, but not required
