Are you enthusiastic about hospitality, people, and beautiful places? By working at Yellowstone National Park, you will get all three! As an Assistant Location Controller, you will play a vital role in supporting the day‑to‑day administrative functions that keep the park running smoothly.
Job Summary The Assistant Location Controller is responsible for managing the accounting operation at one of our six villages throughout the park. In this position, you must ensure accurate reporting of sales revenue, maintain security of the location’s monetary assets, and supervise other location accounting personnel for the summer season.
Details Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: Early April 2026 to Early March 2027 (length of season depends on the location)
Pay: $1,764 to $1,788 per bi‑weekly
Schedule: Typical 40 hours per week, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
Provide accurate and timely daily sales summaries to the Xanterra General Accounting Office (GAO) and relevant location departments
Assist in managing the accounting staff, including scheduling, training, evaluating performance, coaching, and motivating employees (1 to 11 members)
Help maintain the accuracy and security of the house bank while managing cash flow effectively
Ensure strict adherence to Xanterra's accounting policies and procedures by all departments involved in cash handling and accounting duties
Maintain the security of corporate assets and control all numbered documents at the location
Provide training and assistance to other department staff regarding money handling and accounting policies as needed
Communicate with the GAO and other department managers, offering assistance as required
Perform various administrative tasks, including auditing functions, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Qualifications
Accounting degree and/or related work experience
Strong communication and people skills
Supervisory skills
Motivational, organizational, and time management skills
Knowledge of general office procedures
Office machine skills, especially PC experience
Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, IBM Client Access
Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping
General cash handling experience preferred
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is preferred
Physical Requirements
Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time
Extensive walking, lifting, and transporting of supplies and equipment at times
Loading company vehicles, moving supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to and from work stations on location (up to 100 yards)
