San Diego State University Athletics is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled

Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach & Recruiting Coordinator

to support the competitive and academic success of our Division I volleyball program. Reporting to the Head Volleyball Coach, this role is responsible for assisting in all aspects of coaching, teaching, recruiting, program administration, and student-athlete development. The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in shaping the team’s on-court performance, enhancing recruiting operations, coordinating video/statistical analysis, and fostering a positive, student-centered environment that aligns with the mission of SDSU Athletics. Key Responsibilities

Support daily training sessions, manage practice preparation, contribute to game strategy, and employ sound coaching techniques to prepare student-athletes physically, mentally, and emotionally for competition. Lead all aspects of recruiting operations including documentation, scheduling official visits, building relationships with high school and club coaches, evaluating prospective student-athletes, and maintaining compliance with NCAA Division I recruiting regulations. Assist with scheduling, budget management, coordinating apparel/equipment needs, and managing program logistics in collaboration with support staff. Oversee match and practice video, execute scouting responsibilities, analyze statistical data, and manage video exchange processes. Partner with Academic Support Services to monitor academic progress, promote positive citizenship, and ensure athletes represent SDSU with integrity on and off the court. Maintain strict adherence to NCAA, Mountain West Conference, and university policies; complete required documentation in a timely manner. Position Information

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2026, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. (Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, with advance notice) The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree. Five years NCAA Division I, professional, elite club, or other high-level competition as a volleyball player or volleyball coach. Key Qualifications

Head or Assistant Coach for women in the NCAA or comparable professional/elite club team. Broad recruiting experience. Organized in management of volleyball programs. Experience in Setter training. Compensation And Benefits

Salary is based on your experience, education, and qualifications, within the department’s budget and equity guidelines. CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,288 - $7,658/month; hiring salary not expected to exceed $6,500/month. Full Benefits Package Includes
