Overview
Vaerus Aviation is seeking a seasoned, self-disciplined, and conscientious Controller with strong analytical skills and high ethical integrity to join our growing company. As we expand both operationally and strategically, this position plays a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, cash flow management, and internal accountability. The right person for this position is driven to be accurate, communicates professionally, and understands the innate pressure that can be associated with this role. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all internal accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll processing, and month-end close Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, and reports for leadership Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, cash flow projections, and financial strategy Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial best practices Support cross-functional decision-making with clean data and thoughtful insights Mentor and support accounting team members Work with ownership on high-level financial reporting as needed Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or controller-level role Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools Strong understanding of GAAP and financial compliance Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Able to lead, delegate, and mentor a small accounting team Experience managing cash flow in a growing small business setting Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aviation, project-based services, or multi-entity environments Proven ability to improve processes, procedures, or systems Comfort collaborating with executive leadership and ownership Why This Role?
