Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for fixed assets and lease month‑end close accounting responsibilities and divisional month‑end close responsibilities. This includes preparing financial statements, preparing account reconciliations and analysis, monitoring monthly accruals, and supporting internal and external audits.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Assist with the month‑end close process including the creation of journal entries and account reconciliations for multiple site locations.
Prepare monthly financial statements for facilities and discuss/present results to facility managers/management.
Prepare account reconciliations and analysis for various general ledger accounts.
Prepare and monitor monthly accruals.
Support external and internal audits.
Produce various reports for management.
Assist with SOX compliance.
Responsible for the monthly preparation of divisions fixed asset and lease accounting including reporting, month‑end entries, and confirmation controls.
Track and report capital spending by project.
Perform other reasonably related tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
At least 4‑6 years of accounting experience.
Must possess strong communication skills to interact positively with varied levels of personnel.
Must have a solid understanding of US GAAP.
Must have strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills.
Must have previously worked in a Sarbanes‑Oxley environment.
Must have strong Microsoft Office skills.
