We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry‑Level Accountant/Tax Preparer to join our tax team. The role is ideal for someone beginning their career in public accounting who is eager to learn and develop technical tax skills. The Entry‑Level Accountant/Tax Preparer will assist in the preparation of individual and business tax returns, organize client documentation, and support senior tax staff throughout the tax preparation and review process.
Duties
Prepare individual (Form 1040) and basic business tax returns (1065, 1120‑S) under supervision Organize and review client tax documents for completeness and accuracy Enter tax data into tax preparation software and ensure proper documentation is maintained Assist with tax projections, extensions, and amended returns as needed Communicate with internal team members to resolve missing or unclear information Follow firm procedures and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and deadlines Support senior tax staff during tax season and assist with administrative tax‑related tasks Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. CPA/EA exam eligibility or intent to pursue licensure is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic understanding of federal income tax concepts or coursework in taxation Ability to learn tax software and internal systems quickly Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other basic office software Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn and accept feedback in a team environment
