College and Career Associate CASC-VISTA – AmeriCorps VISTA
Join the Early College & Career Connections (EC3) VISTA project at Carl Albert State College (CASC). The 3‑year initiative supports students, families, and school personnel in Sequoyah and LeFlore Counties, increasing capacity for career and college resources.
Overview VISTA EC3 Associates contribute to the project goals by coordinating volunteer support for career/college fairs, supporting school counselors with ICAP‑related resources, connecting school personnel and students with appropriate Career Tech Centers, college admissions staff, or military recruiters, and aligning ICAP resources with partner procedures, policies, and language.
Responsibilities
Participate in CASC, VISTA, and partner professional development.
Represent EC3 at partner meetings (Sequoyah County administrators, Cherokee Nation, Indian Capital Technology Center (ICTC), and colleges).
Attend CASC VISTA EC3 project meetings and collect data to report program impact.
Recruit volunteers and organize school‑hosted career and college fairs.
Develop and identify resources that explain procedures and policies used by schools, Cherokee Nation, ICTC, and colleges/universities.
Partner with school counselors/administrators to design ICAP‑aligned programs that can be implemented at the school.
Act as a liaison between schools, Cherokee Nation, ICTC, and colleges/universities.
Provide VISTA EC3 program awareness through marketing efforts and community outreach.
Qualifications
College graduate; experience as an educator with knowledge of Career Tech and K‑20 models.
Strong counseling, community organization, education, and recruitment skills.
Ability to work off hours and attend school during off hours; permits working at another job during off hours.
