Job Summary and Responsibilities Accountable to Nurse Manager, under the direction of the Charge Nurse on duty, for all patient ECG monitoring and documentation requirements in addition to assisting with clerical duties of the units assigned.
Minimum Requirements
HSD/GED or 2 years equivalent work experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Basic Life Support certification (AHA)
Dysrhythmia Certification
Required Special Skills
Computer literate
Ability to provide accurate, timely interpretation of cardiac rhythms by close observation of cardiac monitors to ensure patient safety
Ability to communicate critical changes in the monitor pattern to the nursing staff to ensure that timely attention is paid to the patient's conditions
Ability to assist the nursing staff, as needed, to aid in the delivery of quality patient care
Ability to problem solve
Ability to reflect an attitude of willingness to work with all staff members toward unit goals
Ability to accept supervision and guidance and work cooperatively with others
Must have the ability to read, write and speak English
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Our family of services includes the area's only inpatient oncology unit, the Orthopedic, Spine, and Hand Center, Family Birth Center, the Lactation Support Center and retail store, and many others. Mercy Hospital Downtown is a 194-bed facility located in downtown Bakersfield. Mercy Hospital Southwest is a 78-bed facility and the only hospital located in the rapidly growing area west of Highway 99. Mercy Hospital is a member of Dignity Health and is a trusted community partner, serving residents of Bakersfield and Kern County with quality, compassionate care since 1910.
Pay Range $24.00 - $29.90 /hour
