Job Summary and Responsibilities
The registered nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients. Provide direct patient care, supervise nursing staff, anticipate patient needs, ensure all physician orders are accurately transcribed and carried out timely, coordinate plan of care, conduct patient teaching, actively participate in assurance of care continuum, collaborate with other services for seamless communication, model leadership, foster teamwork, and mentor peers.
Job Requirements
CA RN License
BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly AHA Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. Ongoing competency is required through internal facility resources; outside RQI resources are not acceptable. RN residents must obtain ACLS within 10 weeks of hire and Chemo provider card within 6 months.

Mercy Hospital Downtown : 194‑bed facility in downtown Bakersfield.
Mercy Hospital Southwest : 78‑bed facility in a rapidly growing area west of Highway 99. Mercy Hospital is a member of Dignity Health and has served Bakersfield and Kern County since 1910.
Pay Range : $43.59–$75.64 /hour
