Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Branch Chief, in the Office of Natural Resource Management (ONRM), a Senior Landscape Architect (Supervisory), the incumbent assists the continued development and maintenance of the Division's GIS Program. The position will assist in the implementation and maintenance of GIS databases, capabilities, and services for ONRM and the Division of Maintenance. The incumbent will assist in the design, testing, integration, and deployment of spatial and non‑spatial databases as well as GIS web‑based applications for ONRM, offices in the Division of Maintenance, and Departmental use. The incumbent may have lead responsibilities, work on multidisciplinary teams, or have primary responsibilities for a project or support activity. The incumbent participates in various GIS steering committees and any technical working groups on matters relating to enterprise GIS and governance efforts. The incumbent is a technical support liaison and promotes knowledge and use of GIS technology, data governance, and data quality best practices within the Division. The incumbent will often work with sensitive and confidential data used for GIS analysis and products for the highest levels in the Department involving policy and strategic matters.

Special Requirements

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) serves as documentation of each applicant’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. Please describe your experience with developing, sharing, and managing geospatial and tabular data, geodatabases, GIS Web Services, Web Maps, and Web Applications.

Please describe your experience with performing complex research and analyses for projects involving diverse types of spatial data, structured and unstructured tabular data, and ways that the results were communicated.

Please describe your experience and knowledge related to data quality management, data governance, and developing standards and best practices.

Please describe your experience and style working with interdisciplinary teams, working groups, and external stakeholders on geospatial projects or strategic matters.

Provide an example of a situation when a timely response to management was necessary to assist with an after‑hours inquiry from a project stakeholder.

Describe an example of how you maintain credibility, trustworthiness, transparency and public trust when assigned to special committees, task forces, public meetings that require interaction with multi‑agency/public stakeholders.
