Professional Development Support
Scope of Role Reporting to the Supervisor, Behavioral Health Services, the Counselor will provide counseling services to adults and children experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulties. Services may be delivered individually, in groups, or with families, using a team‑focused treatment plan approach to deliver exceptional therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities
Conduct individual, group, or family therapy for adults and children.
Engage actively in supervision with the Behavioral Health Supervisor.
Assist clients in preparing and presenting treatment program work material.
Maintain client charting in accordance with Medicaid, JCAHO, ODADAS, ODMH, CARF, and professional standards.
Work efficiently to meet productivity and work‑pace expectations.
Prepare all documentation for discharge and aftercare referral.
Assist in community outreach.
Understand and safeguard the welfare of others.
Consult with supervisor on ethical and legal matters within the organization.
May perform telehealth services as determined by Signature Health.
Complete all productivity and documentation requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Valid, unencumbered LSW, LISW, LPC, LPCC, LIMFT, or LMFT license in the state of Ohio required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Competency in treating mental health and/or substance use disorders within individual, group, couples, and family systems therapy.
Experience collaborating with team members to optimize client outcomes.
Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations.
Awareness of community and state support resources for the population served.
Working Conditions
Typical interior/office/clinical environment.
May require flexibility for evenings and extended hours.
Work involves sitting, standing, telephone, and computer use.
Requires adequate hearing, speaking, and vision for client interaction.
Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens while performing job duties.
Frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting.
Requires sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and office equipment.
