Basic understanding of a kitchen operation within the hotel. Responsible for producing a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guests' needs in a timely manner. Person has basic skills in department training and is capable of assuming department responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef. Skills and knowledge to include culinary education, basic cost control understanding, basic communication, leadership skills and computer skills. May assist in monitoring payroll costs & overtime. Responsibilities include the supervising of hourly cooks.

An intermediate line cook requires good communication and culinary skills. The desired cook candidate will have hotel cooking experience and a culinary degree. An intermediate cook should have a professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures. Intermediate cook will work single stations in the kitchen and require significant supervision and training.

Qualifications

Basic cost control understanding

Leadership and computer skills

2 years of previous experience culinary experiencer required.

Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred.

Candidates should be able to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills.

Aim to be productive, professional and effective at all times

Must be able and willing to train/work on any cooking line /department

Successfully supporting multiple stations on hot cooking lines and departments with the culinary department.

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Maintain a high level of responsibility, attention to detail and pride in work

Must have physical stamina to lift, push, and pull moderate amounts of weight
