Product Technical Services Architect Ludowici, a leading manufacturer of terracotta roofing, cladding, and flooring products, is seeking a full-time Product Technical Services Architect to support the company’s continued success and growth. This role is critical in our operations, ensuring accurate and timely technical support, tile design/detailing, fabrication drawings, and material estimates for our sales team, customers, and production team—all while adhering to company standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed material estimates for roofing, wall cladding, flooring and related materials

Develop designs and details for project specific conditions

Create fabrication drawings for custom project requirements

Develop formal pricing proposals based on component‑based material takeoffs

Review project plans, specifications, and designs with Sales and Project Management teams, identifying potential challenges.

Utilize knowledge of roof, all, and floor assembly construction to perform takeoffs and create sales quotes

Ensure sales quotes clearly define the scope of the work

Collaborate with production, technical, sales and services departments to ensure comprehensive material proposals

Validate material takeoffs and proposals prepared by others for accuracy and completeness

Generate submittal drawings for custom parts requiring customer approval.

Provide Technical services for all Ludowici products

Maintain and update estimation tools, forms, policies and procedures.

Communicate with sales representatives, building owners, contractors, and architects regarding technical details, product installation, and pricing.

Assist in contractor training by presenting details and facilitating hands‑on training sessions.

Support the Director of Technical Services in maintaining accurate product documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

8‑15 years of experience in a technical advisory and/or estimating role within the building materials or construction industry.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with Salesforce CRM and Dynamics 365

Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Revit

Familiarity with 3D Scanning, 3D printing technologies, materials, troubleshooting, and application in a manufacturing process.

Familiarity with Plan Swift estimating software. Experience with steep‑slope roofing, wall cladding, and flooring estimates is beneficial.

Experience with clay extrusion and pressing operations as it pertains to product development

Experience with clay kiln firing characteristics as it pertains to product development.

Required Qualifications

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Ceramic), Architecture, Drafting, or a related technical field

Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings.

Experience with drawing software

Ability to immerse oneself in product and manufacturing processes and gain the knowledge to assume key responsibilities quickly.

Experience with computer‑based estimating software.

Strong organizational skills and a self‑motivated personality.

Ability to develop, assemble, and issue material bid/quote documents in response to customer and sales team requests.

Experience in pre‑construction services and/or estimating in commercial or residential construction.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with sales reps, showroom teams, suppliers, and customers.

Willingness to work extra hours as needed to meet business demands.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

A positive self‑starter with a team‑oriented attitude and commitment to supporting customers, sales teams, and colleagues.

Strong Math and problem‑solving skills
