Venue Operations Supervisor Belmont University seeks to hire a qualified Venue Operations Supervisor.

Position Purpose This role supervises and supports the Venue Operations team to ensure efficient, high‑quality operations that meet safety and scheduling standards. It oversees the setup and tear‑down of event equipment, enforces proper safety practices and coordinates workflows to ensure events are ready on time. The position serves as a key on‑site contact, communicating with clients and campus partners to address needs and ensure a positive event experience. Additionally, it assists leadership in improving operational efficiency and maintaining equipment readiness through regular inspection and process enhancements.

Essential Functions

Supervise and support the Venue Operations team to ensure smooth, efficient operations. Provide hands‑on guidance, assign tasks, and reinforce quality and safety standards. Develop staffing schedules, assign tasks and oversee day‑to‑day workflow to meet operational and event timelines.

Oversee and participate in the setup and tear‑down of tents, tables, chairs, staging, protective flooring, lobby furniture and other equipment for events. Enforce safety protocols during all phases of setup, breakdown and transportation of event materials.

Monitor work practices to ensure all installations are completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with Belmont and OSHA standards.

Coordinate with team members and other departments to maintain an organized workflow and ensure events are ready on schedule. Likewise, coordinate with team members and other departments to ensure a timely tear‑down and clean‑up workflow.

Communicate with clients and campus partners to confirm event requirements, address on‑site needs, and help ensure a positive experience.

Work with Associate Director of Venue and Production Operations to identify opportunities for streamlining operations and improving efficiencies through updated processes, systems and/or equipment investments.

Oversee inspection and maintenance of event equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional and properly stored for future use.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.

Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

Experience working in a fast‑paced environment and the ability to respond to high‑pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Required Education Bachelor’s Degree preferred in an applicable field of study which may include Management, Venue Management, Hospitality and Tourism, or the like. Associate’s degree required with event or hospitality experience 2-to-1. Applicable certifications such as forklift and OSHA rigging preferred but not required.

Required Experience 1-3 years of event or hospitality experience with increasing responsibility required, 4-6 years experience preferred.

The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
