Purpose To assist in the supervision of a specific group of Building Attendant II in their performance of custodial maintenance tasks in university facilities according to a specific schedule and/or Team Cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

Clean according to established procedures, maintain work schedule, accept work assignments, and handle overtime as required.

Lead by supervising and coordinating the work of Building Attendant II; inspect completed work and provide instructions.

Prepare documents such as key logs, security logs, time reports, FAMIS reports, injury reports, inspection reports, supply orders, absence documentation, and training records.

Ensure quality assurance by inspecting buildings, verifying compliance, documenting inspections, and responding to customer complaints.

Follow all work rules, maintain professional appearance, report to work on time, and avoid formal discipline.

Use PPE, safety shoes, and safety equipment; report unsafe conditions and equipment malfunctions.

Maintain security: lock and secure buildings, follow key control procedures, and report missing or lost equipment.

Perform emergency cleaning, report repairs, support events, and act as backup for BAL.

Required Qualifications

Experience following basic work instructions.

One year of experience in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production, or facilities maintenance.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.

Desire to work on a team and stable work history.

Reliable means of communication outside of work by phone.

Preferred Qualifications

High school graduation or GED.

More than two years of custodial experience in relevant fields.

Experience in supervising, training, inspecting, and scheduling custodial work.

OS1 experience and successful completion of the OS1 Comprehensive Certification Program.

Salary Range $39,520+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).

May work in all weather conditions, around chemical fumes, standard office conditions, bio-hazards, chemicals, electrical and mechanical hazards.

Occasional exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Use of backpack vacuum cleaner and other standard custodial equipment.

Physical Tasks

Use of manual dexterity.

Climbing stairs and ladders.

Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.

Push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Continuous standing and walking.

Additional Working Conditions Use of personal protective equipment, safety footwear provided and required.

Work Shift Monday through Friday, 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM shift. Overtime required with little or no notice.

Retirement Plan Eligibility Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) subject to position at least 20 hours per week and 135 days in length.
