Job Purpose:
Responsible for custodial cleaning work in one or more academic buildings according to a specific schedule and OS1 Team Cleaning procedures. Keeps premises in a clean and orderly condition by performing the duties described below.
Responsibilities
Perform general cleaning duties using prescribed equipment, maintaining the work schedule and willingly accepting work assignments; may work overtime before and after shift, on weekends, holidays, and during emergencies.
Follow work rules outlined in employee orientations and relevant policies; maintain a professional appearance, adhere to uniform policy, arrive on time, and work well with others or independently.
Demonstrate job knowledge and proficiency; attend scheduled training and follow all provided guidelines.
Ensure safety by wearing PPE, safety shoes and equipment; perform tasks within established safety guidelines; report unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
Provide security by locking and unlocking buildings and rooms, following alarm and key control procedures, and carrying a UT ID at all times.
Complete work orders for on‑duty cleaning and event support, including setting up table linens and other items for special events.
Respond to emergencies, such as floods, and clean up promptly.
Fill in for absent co‑workers as requested.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Six months of custodial maintenance experience.
High school diploma or GED (preferred).
More than one year of custodial experience (preferred).
Salary Range Yearly Salary: $37,440
Working Conditions
Uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (furnished).
May work in all weather conditions and around chemical fumes and biohazards.
May work around electrical and mechanical hazards, standard office conditions, and chemicals.
Physical Tasks
Climbing of stairs and ladders.
Lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity required.
