Salary Range:

$39,520+ depending on qualifications

Purpose To assist in the supervision of a specific group of Building Attendant II in their performance of custodial maintenance tasks in university facilities according to a specific schedule and/or Team Cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities

General Cleaning Quality – Works according to established procedures using prescribed equipment, maintaining work schedule and accepting assignments.

Leadership – Supervise and coordinate work of Building Attendant II(s), inspect completed work, and provide instruction.

Administrative – Prepare documents such as key logs, security logs, time reports, first reports of injury, inspection reports, supply orders, training records, and notify supervisors as needed.

Quality Assurance – Ensure services and event set‑ups meet instructions, conduct inspections, document corrective actions, and respond to customer complaints.

Work Rules & Appearance – Adhere to work rules, uniform policy, and dependability standards.

Safety & Repair – Use PPE, report unsafe conditions, and maintain custodial equipment safely.

Security – Secure buildings and rooms, follow unlocking/locking procedures, maintain key control, and report lost equipment.

Driving – Transport employees and equipment between buildings as required.

Emergency Cleaning – Report repairs, work events as requested, and act as backup for BAL.

Required Qualifications Experience following basic work instructions; at least one year in custodial, environmental services, hospitality, warehouse, production or facilities maintenance; excellent communication and teamwork skills; written comprehension ability; stable work history; reliable phone communication.

Preferred Qualifications High school graduation or GED, more than two years custodial experience, supervisory or training experience, OS1 experience, OS1 Comprehensive Certification Program completion.

Driving Requirement Class “C” operator’s driver’s license with a current three‑year driving record. Non‑Texas residents must obtain a Texas license within 30 days of becoming residents. Employees requiring a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing.

Working Conditions Environmental Demands

Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished)

Work in all weather conditions, chemical fumes, office conditions, biohazards, electrical and mechanical hazards

Use of backpack vacuum cleaner and other standard custodial equipment

Physical Tasks

Manual dexterity, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting & moving, continuous standing and walking

Additional Working Conditions

Use of PPE, safety footwear, lift/carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs, use of industrial‑sized cleaning equipment, exposure to blood‑borne pathogens

Work Shift Monday thru Friday work week, 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM shift. Overtime may be required with little or no advance notice.
