Linde Technology Center (LTC) in Tonawanda, NY is looking for a Technology Expert to join the Electronics Gases research and development team. In this role you will engage with Linde’s regional businesses, global customers, OEMs and suppliers to develop and commercialize new materials, purification technologies, delivery systems and packaging solutions for the Electronics specialty gases and advanced materials market. Lead New Product Development – drive projects from concept to successful commercialization. Experimental Design & Execution – design, set up experimental apparatus, plan, run and execute experiments, conduct data analysis and create efficient presentations for communicating technical results. Become an internal technical expert in the field of relevant semiconductor materials. Ensure constructive alignment with development partners, commercial team and customers throughout all stages of technology development. Actively participate in internal and external technical collaborations to identify opportunities for new products and development programs. Prepare invention disclosures and contribute to the development of Linde intellectual property portfolio. What makes you great
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or related field is required. 10+ years of proven track record of driving new product development and commercialization of semiconductor materials. 5+ years of experience with processes related to thin film deposition and characterization. Hands‑on chemical synthesis and purification of semiconductor materials is required. Packaging and delivery of high purity materials used in thin film deposition. Material analysis (XRD, TGA, FTIR, NMR, GC-MS, MS, etc.) and functional characterization of (thermal decomposition, flow rate, compatibility, reactivity, etc.). Fundamental knowledge of physics and chemistry of interfacial phenomena. Work ethic – ability to work independently and be flexible in fast‑pacing R&D environment with changing priorities. Communications – efficient verbal and written (email, technical documentation, presentation) communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative teamwork.
