What you will enjoy doing

In this role, you will be a key member of the Electronics Gases research and development team at the Linde Technology Center (LTC) in Tonawanda, NY

You will engage and collaborate with Linde’s regional businesses, global customers, OEMs, and suppliers to develop and commercialize new materials, purification technologies, delivery systems, and packaging solutions for their use in the Electronics specialty gases (ESGs) and advanced materials market

Lead New Product Development – drive projects from concept to successful commercialization for Linde Electronics business

For the process design & optimization you will develop and execute strategies for starting a new or optimizing an existing chemical process

You will become an internal technical expert in the field of electronics specialty material production

In addition you will ensure constructive alignment with development partners, commercial team, and customers throughout all stages of technology development

In the area of collaborative innovation, you will actively participate in internal and external technical collaborations to identify opportunities for new products and/or development programs

Also, you will prepare invention disclosures and contribute to the development of Linde intellectual property portfolio

What Makes You Great

Ph.D. in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field

10+ years of engineering experience with scale-up of chemical process, and plant process design or optimization

You have demonstrated success in commercialization of specialty chemical processes, preferably ESGs

Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, mass and heat transfer

Hands‑on with lab scale experiments with ESGs and liquids

Proficiency in process modeling software (Comsol, Unisim, Aspen) with fundamental understanding of gas purification

Proven track record of development, design, and start‑up of small volume separation and purification plant (preferably for electronics specialty materials)

Development or expanding chemical manufacturing capacities

You have experience with P&ID development/review, HAZOP, PHA, and design safety review, with demonstrated ability to integrate safety into process development

Work Ethic - ability to work independently and to be flexible in fast‑pacing R&D environment with changing priorities

Communications - efficient verbal and written (email, technical documentation, presentation) communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills for collaborative teamwork are required

The salary range for this role is: $113,680–$156,310.
