Position Summary The Business Development Manager is responsible for building and managing relationships with stakeholders within the Commercial Roofing & Exterior Restoration industry. This role focuses on market research, account acquisition, and nurturing relationships to create opportunities that are delivered to the sales team. The BDM works closely with sales leadership to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads and to re-engage prospects when opportunities stall.

Responsibilities

Market Research & Opportunity Discovery: Analyze market trends, competitor behavior, and customer demographics to uncover new business opportunities.

Lead Generation & Prospect Outreach: Execute strategic outbound campaigns through cold calling, email marketing, and social media to engage and attract potential clients. Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, social gatherings, and community functions to build strong relationships and increase brand visibility.

Lead Qualification & CRM Integration: Evaluate both inbound and outbound leads by gathering critical data to assess needs and potential fit. Collaborate with the Sales Admin team to accurately input and manage leads and opportunities in Salesforce CRM. Schedule and conduct follow-up communications, ensuring leads are nurtured in a timely and professional manner.

Team Collaboration & Lead Re-engagement: Work closely with the marketing team to align on campaigns and create content that speaks to target audiences. Partner with account managers, estimators, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless handoff and smooth progression through the sales cycle. Reinitiate contact with previously inactive leads, reassessing their needs and interest.

Reporting & Process Optimization: Track and report on outreach efforts, lead conversions, and overall pipeline performance. Share regular updates with leadership and recommend improvements to boost lead quality, increase engagement, and streamline sales processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field—or equivalent experience.

3–5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in the commercial or industrial services sector.

Strong proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and a data-informed approach to decision-making.

Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

Strategic and agile thinker who excels in fast-paced environments and can manage multiple initiatives effectively.

Self-motivated, high-energy, and results-oriented with a passion for driving growth and building lasting client relationships.
