$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr The Data Center Commissioning Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the commissioning process for mission‑critical data center facilities. This role ensures that all building systems—including electrical, mechanical, controls, and life‑safety systems—are designed, installed, tested, and operated in accordance with project requirements, industry standards, and operational readiness goals. The Commissioning Manager serves as the primary technical authority for commissioning activities from design through turnover and supports the transition to operations while ensuring system reliability, redundancy, and resilience. Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage the overall commissioning plan for data center projects from design through integrated systems testing (IST) and final acceptance Lead commissioning activities for electrical, mechanical, BMS/EPMS, fire/life safety, and security systems Coordinate commissioning schedules with construction, design, and operations teams Serve as the primary point of contact for all commissioning‑related activities Design & Pre‑Construction Phase

Review design documents for commissionability, maintainability, and operational readiness Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments Develop commissioning specifications, test scripts, and procedures Ensure alignment with owner’s project requirements (OPR) and basis of design (BOD) Verify installation and readiness of systems prior to testing Coordinate factory witness testing (FWT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) Track and manage commissioning issues, deficiencies, and resolution plans Ensure proper documentation, as‑builts, and system manuals are completed Testing & Validation

Plan and execute Level 1–5 testing, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST) Validate redundancy, failover, and concurrent maintainability scenarios Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, NFPA, IEC, etc.) Document test results and manage final commissioning reports Turnover & Operational Readiness

Support training of operations and maintenance staff Ensure successful handover to data center operations teams Verify system performance aligns with operational requirements Support early‑life operation and warranty phase activities Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience 8+ years of experience in mission‑critical facilities or data center environments 5+ years of hands‑on commissioning experience Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems for data centers Experience with integrated systems testing (IST) and operational readiness Preferred Qualifications

Commissioning Authority (CxA), Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer (ATD), or similar certifications Experience with hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center projects Familiarity with EPMS, BMS, SCADA, and DCIM systems Experience managing multiple large‑scale projects simultaneously Strong leadership and coordination skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to manage complex testing scenarios under schedule pressure High attention to detail and commitment to reliability and safety Proficient in MS Office, commissioning software, and project management tools
