Quality Supervisor The Quality Supervisor will ensure compliance with food safety regulations, monitor production processes, and implement quality control measures for ice cream production at Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream.

Work in a wet, humid environment with high noise levels, mechanical and pressurized equipment. Cold temperatures and fast‑paced production require standing, lifting, and protective PPE.

Pay Range $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year, with potential for overtime, shift differential, cold premium pay, and annual bonuses.

Job Description

Lead by example to carry out all duties and specific responsibilities under operational Quality and Food Safety Policies and Procedures.

Promote a culture change toward behavioral quality improvements.

Provide expertise to operations for quality promotion and execution to ensure an exceptional ice‑cream experience.

Direct and supervise quality specialists and techs to ensure daily activities support production of quality ice‑cream on the lines.

Partner with operations management on key quality checks for line operators; evaluate periodically.

Manage the quality hold program and lead root‑cause analysis, corrective action, and trend reporting.

Provide leadership on customer complaint reduction, prioritizing actions based on trend data.

Oversee net content facility rules for volume and weight compliance.

Support TAG on new product launches or formulation.

Communicate best practices to plant operations and apply them facility and network‑wide.

Drive improvements and monitor Quality Metrics/KPI’s at the facility.

Challenge all departments on quality and food safety related matters.

Support GMP and HACCP, FSMA, FSP compliance throughout the facility; coach operators and promote minimal water use.

Ensure compliance with internal and external audits (FSSC 22000, Market audits).

Support local, state, and federal agencies on request.

Drive monthly KPI reviews and contribute to yearly business goals.

Monitor quality system performance, report effectiveness, and implement improvement actions.

Represent “The Froneri Way” through behaviors and core values.

Reduction of pallets on holds.

Reduction of food safety incidents.

Presence on the shop floor during ice‑cream production.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.

At least 2 years of quality assurance experience, preferably in dairy or frozen food.

Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations.

Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to lead a team and collaborate across departments.

Proficiency in quality control software and reporting tools.

Working Conditions

Cold Temperatures:

Parts of the facility may be kept at low temperatures; cold‑protective PPE required.

Standing, lifting, walking in refrigerated zones for extended periods.

Fast‑Paced:

Strict timelines and frequent movement on the manufacturing floor.

Repetitive hand and arm movements; prolonged standing and bending.

Food Safety Regulations:

Must follow hygiene guidelines, including protective gear such as gloves and hairnets.
