Base pay range:

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

Inventory Management

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy.

Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.

Champion On‑Shelf Availability, handling receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes.

Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.

Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications that affect front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.

Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques; file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods—including prescription drugs.

Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and readiness for the business day.

Customer Experience

Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.

Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience as leader on duty.

Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful experience.

Operations

Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.

Scan in all deliveries while the vendor is in the store; focus on one‑box receiving; take appropriate action marking delivery as received.

Verify all pharmacy shipments are posted; complete or verify postings for pharmacy warehouse orders, prescription, OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu, and dropship orders.

Execute On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) end‑to‑end process including direct store delivery (DSD) for planogrammed departments.

Perform pharmacy recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled and damaged salvage returns, and excess inventory returns or interstore transfers.

Complete execution of all pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, deletes; support additional regulatory pricing tasks.

Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor pharmacy manual orders for excess, maintain consigned inventory.

Ensure designated pull & quarantine item on‑hands are updated and placed correctly.

Maintain accurate inventory counts for all departments and pharmacy smart counts.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Assist in maintenance of inventory records: receiving, posting, organizing invoices and receipts.

Help prepare for physical inventory; support physical inventory day activities.

Support keeping counters and shelves clean and merchandised.

Knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment.

Assist and coach store team on package delivery activities, pickup program, and daily inventory functions.

As leader on duty, register all sales on POS; manage scanning errors, price verifications, voids, product returns, cash drops.

Comply with company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete any additional activities or tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Attend company‑based trainings for continuous development and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training.

Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license or certification as required by the state.

Communications

Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members by coaching and developing capabilities with inventory systems.

When serving as leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Basic Qualifications

Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in previous 12 months (internal candidates only).

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.

Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending & implementing strategies to resolve them.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.

Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
