Work Option: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.

This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed 10 months.

Position Summary This position will support the tracking and review of NBA arena design and construction projects and assist with the NBA Arena Standards compliance process. This role will be part of the NBA Venues team who, among other things, are responsible for the development and execution of building infrastructure and operations of the NBA’s domestic and international venues. The Project Employee, Venue Development will participate with the Venues team in arena development projects for new arenas and renovations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong design and technical understanding of sports building infrastructure, systems, and operations, combined with experience in reviewing drawings and summarizing information related to building design and construction for key internal and external stakeholders.

Major Responsibilities

Support the review and tracking of projects and deliverables for NBA arenas undergoing planning, design, and construction related to league requirements and standards;

Independently perform assignments to facilitate progress in the planning, design, and construction of large and complex projects, from pre-design through project completion. Familiarity with sports venues is preferred;

Attend regular meetings with project teams to monitor and document project progress. Be able to provide detailed and accurate notes, as well as develop and maintain logs of all project action items;

Liaise and maintain working relationships with project teams that include arena and team representatives, construction managers, and architects;

Collaborate and partner with internal departments and key stakeholders in the execution and application of League initiatives;

Transform large and/or complex amounts of information into written summaries and key insights for various internal and external stakeholders;

Research trends in industry advancements, and provide recommendations on how to improve and enhance venue development and best practices;

Required Education/Professional Experience

5+ years of experience in architecture design or construction management for large-scale building and/or sports venue projects;

Bachelor's Degree

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes

Ability to understand, interpret, and review design and construction drawings, reports, and specifications;

Ability to interface at all levels of management and build strong working relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders;

Strong PM proficiencies and experience working with various project management tools and reporting;

Understanding of project budgets and schedules, with a focus on project milestones and timely deliverables;

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;

Confident in working independently to meet tight deadlines and balancing a large volume of projects with an expectation for quality and detail;

Expertise in MS applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and various forms of computer-aided design (CAD) platforms, such as AutoCAD;

Understanding of events and building operations for large sports and entertainment venues;

Project-based knowledge in MEP or structural building systems;

Strong data analysis and visualization skills, with the ability to process and present data clearly and intuitively.

Salary Range $115,000 - $125,000
