Position Summary The Production Trainee position is part of the NBA Social, Digital & Original Content group, responsible for identifying, creating, distributing, and publishing content for the NBA’s social and digital platforms, and its partners worldwide. This role supports the NBA, WNBA, and G League, and involves working closely with live game and event coverage.

Work Option The NBA offers eligible employees the option to work remotely one day per week. This position is in a unionized bargaining unit and union membership is required. Assignment end dates are tentative and subject to change.

Major Responsibilities

Identify elements and potential storylines from NBA, WNBA, NBA 2K, and G League live games and tentpole events throughout the season, including nights and weekends.

Specifically, identify content for all NBA, WNBA, and G League social and digital platforms.

Tag behind‑the‑scenes footage and historical footage in the NBA’s digital archive.

Operate the output of the NBA’s continuous broadcast feed of live NBA game breaks for distribution across NBA League Pass and NBA App.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Deep knowledge and passion for the NBA, WNBA, and G League and their players, coaches, and teams.

Understanding of basketball analytics and the rules of the game.

Strong knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, including Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Basic knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, and other content creation tools.

Knowledge of video production and experience with podcasts is a plus.

Knowledge of pop culture and social media personalities who connect with key NBA, WNBA, and G League demographics.

Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred.

Salary Range $22.43/hr
