The Opportunity Provide the expertise and knowledge that support the college curriculum and programs. Establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students using a variety of effective methodologies and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning. The role of the Instructional Faculty encompasses teaching and learning, academic advising, professional development and institutional and community service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching:
Demonstrate skill in teaching discipline, improve instruction quality, plan and use a variety of teaching methods, evaluate students, maintain accurate student records, evaluate textbooks, teach courses at various times, use technology, assist with laboratories.
Academic Advising:
Maintain professional relationships, provide access to students through office hours, advise students, make presentations, maintain website, assist chair with advising activities.
Professional Development:
Establish annual objectives, keep pace with discipline developments, apply student‑learning technologies, participate in evaluation processes.
Institutional and Community Service:
Participate in service activities, committees, meetings, adhere to policies, assist in college activities, community outreach, maintain accreditation standards, participate in planning, review curricula.
Qualifications
Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in business. Preferred fields: Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, Logistics or Management.
Three years work experience in business administration with emphasis in one of the preferred fields.
Two semesters of college level teaching experience preferred.
Ability to teach all Business Administration courses.
Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, ability to inspire and motivate students.
Knowledge of computer usage, software, and instructional technology.
