$5000 Sign On Bonus! We are hiring immediately for Maintenance Generalists. To feed a changing world, Tyson Foods relies on an incredible team. Every team member plays a key role in our success.
Hours for this position: 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM Friday–Monday.
The starting salary ranges from $26.20 to $37.45 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with potential for advancement through testing.
Responsibilities
Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure safe and effective operation of equipment and team.
Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment.
Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed.
Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment.
Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals.
Minimize downtime due to equipment failure.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Must be able and willing to furnish your own tools.
Physical Requirements The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Requirements Education and Experience: Minimum 2 years of mechanic work experience documented in the application or graduation from an industrial maintenance training program (or combination of employers) totaling at least 2 years.
Special Skills
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Communication Skills: Effective communication and basic math skills required.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; lift 20 lbs. frequently.
Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day.
Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop.
Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling.
Frequent overhead work.
Temperatures inside the plant may vary from -25°F to over 100°F; outside work may also be needed.
Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements.
Read and understand blueprints, manuals and work orders.
