Pay Rate
$28.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications (NOT flat‑rate)
ASE incentive of $0.25 per hour for each relevant ASE obtained (training materials and exams are paid by First Student)

Hours Monday‑Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (full‑time shift)

About the Mechanic Position As a technician at First Student, you will maintain the safety of our fleet of newer vehicles and use diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues that require repair.
Perform maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
Complete work orders
Assist with mobile emergency services
Mechanics and technicians are subject to DOT drug testing as safety‑sensitive employees. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
Personal mechanic’s tool set
Desire to grow, learn, and develop skills through ASE testing
Ability to work in a position that meaningfully impacts the community
