This position is for the st shift, running from : am to : pm, Monday through Friday.
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced professional with CNC LATHE setup and operating experience. Familiarity with MAZAK machine control and Y axis machining will be a significant advantage.
The role involves operating various conventional and / or numerically controlled machining centers on semi-complex jobs.
You will work from blueprints, sketches, planning sheets, verbal instructions, and engineering, tooling, or equipment information, contributing to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
This position requires working with limited guidance in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and run multiple production machines.
Perform machine operations, including reworking parts such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, and reaming.
Make necessary machine adjustments and report improper functioning or cutting action for correction.
Align and fasten work using standard fixtures and established methods.
Install and adjust cutting tools consistent with the type and size of material being machined.
Follow established manufacturing methods using standard production machines, materials, and tooling.
Adjust feeds, speeds, and depth of cut to machine quality parts, per documentation.
Operate hand and power tools to deburr precision and complex machine parts according to semi-complicated engineering blueprints and route sheets to close tolerances.
Inspect parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
Routinely maintain equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability specific to division requirements.
Accurately and regularly perform statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements.
Actively implement lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.
Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Perform other related responsibilities as requested.
Job Requirements
Three years of related machining experience.
Able to work with limited guidance in a team environment.
Able to make machine setups.
Read and follow blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
Possess working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
Able to effectively apply lean initiatives.
Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Interpret reports and use job-specific software applications.
Able to use employee self-service systems to access online information and use specialized automated systems (, PMR, TORS, email).
Effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
