Mechanical Engineer – EI Rogers, Arkansas

As part of the Buildings team at Garver, this Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing mechanical designs in support of a variety of Buildings projects. Specifically, this responsibility includes planning, design, and commissioning of the following:

Building HVAC system(s)

Building plumbing system(s)

Building fire protection system(s)

Building whole‑building energy modeling

Building sustainability requirements reporting

In addition, the role will involve coordination with other support disciplines and regional offices, assisting project managers in project management, following quality assurance and quality control plans, and periodic travel to project sites.

Abilities and Attributes Needed for this Position

Knowledge of mechanical engineering and sustainability principles

Utilizing BIM design software to produce construction drawings

Use Microsoft Excel–based calculation tools for design calculations

Manage multiple assignments concurrently

Be responsible for time management and product quality

Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project accounting for all assigned projects

Follow quality assurance and quality control plans

Continuously pursue education and learning based on project and team needs

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus from an ABET‑accredited university or college

Minimum of 3 years of building design and construction industry experience

Knowledge base of mechanical engineering principles related to building mechanical designs

Strong communication skills

Experience with Autodesk Revit

Proficiency with MS Office Suite

Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam

Preferred Skills

Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD

Experience with Carrier HAP or similar HVAC load analysis program

Experience with AIA MasterSpec
