Responsibilities
Install locking and non‑locking hardware such as electronic hardware, panic devices, mortise locks, cylindrical locks, door closers, latch guards, and cam locks.
Re‑key IC cores, standard pin tumbler and wafer locks; create a bitting array; imprint wafer locks.
Use computer skills to maintain information for master key systems, fabricate keys by code, issue employee forms, and generate bar codes for facilities cards related to Grainger purchases.
Maintain life safety codes and policies in line with university guidelines for all locking devices.
Read blueprints and understand fundamentals of hardware and keying schedules.
Work with Project Managers to provide keys, cores, and cylinders for new and renovated spaces.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of experience, or post‑high‑school education and experience equal to two years. A technical or vocational degree in an appropriate building trade area may substitute for experience.
Valid State of Florida or Georgia driver’s license, or ability to obtain one upon hire.
