HVAC Sales Engineer
Location:
Southern California triangle of Simi Valley, Indio and Irvine
Compensation:
Base about 160-180k plus commission. Typical total comp for a two million producer is 200k to 220k, with higher potential as volume grows.
What You Will Do
Grow and manage a portfolio of commercial and government clients
Sell HVAC service, repair, controls and system replacement projects
Consistently produce at least two million per year at thirty percent gross margin
Evaluate mechanical systems and underperforming DDC controls for upgrade opportunities
Estimate scopes accurately and support execution with internal project teams
Program and commission BAS and DDC control systems, tune sequences and optimize performance
Conduct field visits, client meetings and scope reviews with light office requirements
Technical Scope Includes
Identifying clients that need full service support from maintenance to controls to replacements
Replacing faulty or outdated DDC systems and selling long term maintenance agreements
Designing control sequences, specifying equipment and supporting layout and scheduling
Diagnosing control issues, tuning PID loops, improving airflow and optimizing energy use
Providing client handover, training and documentation
Working with vendors and supporting future upgrades
What You Bring
Mechanical Engineering degree with HVAC focus or ten years of high level field experience
Five or more years selling HVAC service or replacement projects
Active book of business in commercial and government sectors
Strong estimating skills and the ability to support project execution
Sales experience within Southern California only
Compensation and Perks
Base salary about 160k per year paid weekly.
Simple five percent commission system, shared only with those working on the job.
Ability to earn one hundred percent of commission on jobs you sell and run.
Commissions paid next quarter on small jobs and as billing occurs on larger projects.
Insurance paid at one hundred percent for employee, fifty percent for spouse and forty percent for children.
Vehicle and cell phone allowance.
Gas card and company credit card.
Laptop with remote access.
