Job Purpose The Maintenance Mechanic – Packaging supports packaging equipment operations by performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The role reports to the Manager of Packaging & Technology and works closely with Electrical and Automation Technicians.
Responsibilities
Monitor packaging equipment for proper operation, making adjustments and repairs to optimize machine performance.
Inspect equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and required adjustments, ensuring compliance with codes.
Diagnose malfunctioning machines, systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools.
Clean, lubricate, adjust, and repair machinery and equipment.
Disassemble machinery to inspect defects and replace worn parts.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, driving equipment improvements.
Partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, addressing quality, safety, cost, and other losses.
Apply continuous‑improvement mindset and problem‑solving techniques to optimize processes.
Qualifications
Entry‑level mechanical skills; experience with packaging equipment preferred.
Proficiency using hand and power tools, test instrumentation, and diagnostic techniques.
Strong collaboration skills; ability to work with Electrical and Automation teams.
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
