A leading Investment Management firm in Los Angeles is seeking an Accountant to support its Family Office function. The role provides diverse exposure across accounting, finance, fund reporting, tax, and estate planning, with strong opportunities for career progression. Approximately 2 years of Big 4 (or equivalent) or family office experience is preferred, along with a background in funds or financial services. The position is hybrid.
Responsibilities
Record transactions, research AP/AR discrepancies, reconcile general ledger and bank/investment accounts.
Prepare cash flow projections & forecasts, financial analysis reports to measure performance of investment accounts using metrics such as IRR, ROI, etc.
Analyze and value privately held real estate, private equity and venture capital investments.
Assist with month‑end closing processes for multiple general ledger accounts across entities.
Collaborate with the family office team to produce financial reports and investment performance packages for distribution to principals.
Work with external tax accountants to review and file annual federal, state, and other returns, provide information for taxable income estimates and review of profits‑interest calculations.
Oversee tracking of investments, capital calls, distributions, and related financial activities to ensure accurate reporting.
Work cohesively with the family office team and assist on any ad‑hoc projects as requested.
Requirements & Skills
Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.
Experience at a Big 4 (or similar public accounting firm) with exposure to asset management, real estate or financial services clients or an equivalent family‑office accounting role.
Strong communication skills with a professional & driven approach.
Willingness to “roll up sleeves”.
CPA qualified or eligible (plus).
