Accounting Specialist
Excel Campus Activities – Arlington, TX
Location: Arlington, TX. Position: Full‑time. Work schedule: Monday‑Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Salary: commensurate with experience.
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of several large Auxiliary Departments, ensuring accurate and timely processing of a wide range of accounting transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Review and process vendor invoices for payment for both PO and non‑PO vouchers, ensuring accuracy and resolving issues with vendors.
Maintain payment vouchers in the accounting system and keep vendor files up to date.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
Review and process procurement card logs for payment, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and appropriate authorizations.
Process charges on journal vouchers (IDT) for campus dining services, MavMoney, and other departmental activities.
Process employee electronic forms related to new hires, terminations, rate increases, and position changes.
Process employee time entries, including overtime and vacation vouchers.
Review and process travel authorizations and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with university travel policies.
Create and process requisitions for Mav eShop and standard purchase orders.
Assist with a variety of reconciliations and perform other assigned accounting support tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Four (4) years of governmental or commercial accounting experience comparable to an Accounting Specialist level.
Experience using Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting.
Experience using PeopleSoft.
