Extension is seeking a Senior Accountant for a Direct Hire opportunity with one of our clients located in Brookfield, WI. This role is ideal for professionals transitioning from public accounting who have strong GAAP knowledge, audit experience, and a passion for accurate financial reporting.
About the Role You will play a key role in month-end close, financial statement preparation, and supporting audits, while gaining exposure to a dynamic, private-equity-backed organization.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Assist with revenue recognition across multiple business lines.
Perform variance analysis and provide insights to management.
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial reporting and compliance initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred or in progress.
Two or more years of public accounting experience is preferred, otherwise open to any industry!
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP systems (Macola, Acumatica a plus).
Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
